Formed in 1977, Laughing Stock is a community theatre company aiming to provide entertainment and to enhance community pride and cohesiveness in the process. This non-profit group also provides a forum for amateurs and professionals alike to hone and share their talents. It often employs professional actors, musicians, dancers, technicians, artists, and directors. These professionals are valuable assets in bringing quality theatre to the Valley. This organization also strives to provide educational opportunities for children, especially through Camp Little Laugh, a weeklong overnight drama camp running August 12-18 at Cathedral Pines Camp. Programming for the season generally consists of a large family musical, a non-musical play (usually a comedy), and a musical revue—Main Street Cabaret—that is presented in the summer (this year it is July 28-30). Performances are presented at the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum.
